27 November – 28 December
Once again, Skovgaard Museum transforms its beautiful museum garden into the illuminated Angel Garden: a place that reminds us of those we miss and carry in our hearts during the Christmas season.
The Angel Garden is created by children and adults throughout December. All visitors are invited to receive a free angel ornament on which they can write the name of someone they miss. The angels are then hung on the Christmas trees in the garden behind the museum.
The angels are inspired by Joakim Skovgaard’s angels from his decoration of Viborg Cathedral.
The Angel Garden has become a special and unique tradition at Skovgaard Museum, created together with the citizens of Viborg and the many people who visit the city from elsewhere. Over the years, the garden has developed into a cherished outdoor space where thoughts, memories, and feelings of longing can find a special place during Christmas.
Angels can be collected during the museum’s opening hours, Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, from 27 November onwards. Outside the museum’s opening hours, angels can be collected from We Are Viborg (Vi er Viborg). Further information will be available in the garden throughout December.
