School and Group Visits
Larger groups are kindly requested to notify the museum of their visit in advance, even when planning a self-guided visit. This helps us ensure that all visitors have the best possible experience.
To book an educational programme for your school or educational institution, please contact Karoline Frederikke Strøm, e-mail: kas@skovgaardmuseet.dk
Transport and Parking
Parking for cars and coaches is available directly in front of the museum.
There are direct train connections from Struer, Aarhus and Langå every 30 minutes.
The museum is approximately a 10-minute walk from Viborg Station via the pedestrian shopping street.
Accessibility
The museum is housed in a 300-year-old listed building without a lift and with several steep staircases. Unfortunately, this makes access very difficult for visitors with limited mobility. If you nevertheless wish to visit the museum, we recommend that you bring a companion to assist you.
The Museum Garden
Behind the museum is a charming small garden featuring artworks, a fountain and a variety of plants. Tables and chairs are available in the shade of the pollarded trees, where visitors are welcome to enjoy their own packed lunch.
